bonlexis translations

Many people speak forein languages, but to convey complex information in an authentic way requires the professional translation skills of bonlexis. This is because our passion lies in making people understand something that, without us, they would probably never understand.

Our specialist fields:

Systematic quality assurance

The high quality of bonlexis translations is the result of a carefully structured process with clearly defined rules and criteria. For instance, each of your translations is placed in the hands of specialised translators who have been officially certified and/or who have a relevant university degree as a qualification. They are also certified with many years of experience in the relevant specialist field and very familiar with this field's terminology. Depending on the specialist field, many of them also have a degree in their specialism, for example in medicine, engineering or law, and/or were – or still are – in a position of responsibility in business or in the marketing sector.

What is more, our project management and translation processes involve the use of modern CAT (computer-aided translation) tool software such as Trados or Across. This software saves segments of text which have already been translated as well as the specific terminology. This guarantees both the consistency of the target text and cost savings on subsequent translations.

  • Translations according to DIN EN 15038: The exceptional as standard

bonlexis is guided in its work by European Quality Standard DIN EN 15038: the quality standard for translation service providers recognised throughout Europe. The aim of DIN EN 15038 is to increase the quality of translation services and to ensure this on a long-term basis. In particular, it defines:

Human resources: Only translators who have the relevant university education and sufficient work experience should be employed in this process.

Work processes and quality management: The standard places value on the intense review of translations by independent and qualified third parties – the so-called Four Eyes Principle.

  • The Native Language Principle: feelings only manifest in your native language

No matter how long and intensively we learn a language, this second language (almost) never gains the emotional quality of our native language. For bonlexis, this is reason enough to handle all of your translations in accordance with the Native Language Principle, without exception. This means that during the translation process – no matter whether as a translator or a proofreader – at least one person involved speaks the target language as their mother tongue: a so-called native speaker. In an ideal scenario, both the translator and the proofreader are native speakers of the target language.
Your translation will be an impressive text, not just because of the highest possible degree of linguistic accuracy and finesse, but above all due to the flawless use of the vocabulary specific to your specialist field. It is also because the translators in question solely translate from their particular working language into their native language and they mainly work in the appropriate national, cultural and technical context.
  • The Four Eyes Principle: Perfectly translated, perfectly proofread

By following the Four Eyes Principle, we ensure that your text is not only translated into the target language by a qualified translator; it is then also carefully read through again for errors by an equally skilled colleague. This method guarantees that your text is formulated in the best possible way.
